Wix + Google Merchant Center: why products get rejected

Short answer: most rejected Wix products have one of a few fixable problems: template text left in the description, a missing or small photo, no price, sales words in the name, or store pages without contact details and a refund policy. Google checks your store pages as well as each product. Fix them in Wix, then list the products again.

How Wix sends your products to Google

Wix has Merchant Center built in. In your site's dashboard, open Google & YouTube, click Get Started, and sign up (or connect the Merchant Center account you already have). Then use List Products to send all or some of your products. Wix says Google's review usually happens quickly but can take up to 3 days. Products Google turns down appear under Disapproved on the same page, with the reason.

What Google checks on your store first

Before any product is approved, Google looks at the store itself. Wix lists these basics:

If these are missing, Google can reject everything at once, or suspend the whole account for "misrepresentation". Our misrepresentation guide covers that case step by step.

The common reasons Wix products get disapproved

  1. Template text left in the description. Wix templates come with text like "I'm a product description". Google treats it as an unfinished page. Fix: Store Products > open the product > replace the description with your own words.
  2. No photo, or a small one. Every product needs a clear main photo. Wix's help still says 100×100 pixels is enough, but from 31 January 2027 Google needs at least 500×500 for all products. Fix: upload a photo of 1500×1500 pixels or more. More in our 500×500 photo guide.
  3. A price of 0, or no price. Google won't show a product it can't price. Fix: set a real price in the product, and check that the price on the page matches what Google shows.
  4. Sales words in the product name. Names like "SALE! Mug - FREE SHIPPING" break Google's title rules. Fix: name the product plainly ("Blue ceramic mug, 350 ml") and keep offers out of the name.
  5. A barcode Google can't use. If your product came with a barcode (GTIN or UPC), add it: in the product's Google settings, tick This product has a GTIN, ISBN or UPC Code. If you make the product yourself and it has no barcode, leave the box unticked rather than making a number up.
  6. Products Google doesn't list. Wix notes that digital products and subscriptions can't be sold in Google Shopping, so they'll stay off however you set them up.
  7. Store pages Google can't trust. Template contact details (like a sample phone number), an empty refund page or no About page can sink every product. Fix the pages first, then list again.

Disapproved or suspended?

Disapproved means one product has a problem. Fix it and list it again. Suspended means Google stopped your whole account, usually over store pages or "misrepresentation". That takes a review request after the fixes; see the misrepresentation guide.
